Tony Furtado's first night of residency at Secret Society Ballroom was dedicated to Gulfsongs Oregon. Featuring Tony, Jim Brunberg, Thad Beckman, Lewi Longmire, Stephanie Schneiderman, and Ivan Rosenberg, it was a night of singer/songwriter/blues/folk/rock jamming goodness. There was mild gnashing of teeth afterwards that it was not recorded. I am so lucky to be working with Gulfsongs. Not only are they a great organization with a razor sharp focus, I am finding out about all sorts of insanely talented locals who I had not known before. Tony will be hosting a few more nights at Secret Society this summer, just as Gulfsongs benefits also continue through the summer. OK, have to run - Shawn Colvin at the Aladdin tonight. See you soon!
