Ok so as I looked down the list of folk musicians that I have on my iPod this year I notocied that there were not a lot of folk women! There were a few female blues musicians like JoAnne Shaw Taylor and Javina Magness, but not a lot of folkies. So a New Years resolution will be to listen to more female folksingers!

Now with that said here are ten of my folk singer-songwriter albums of the year! I also have a list of groups and more well-known artists, but those are for other posts.  I doubt that many are on other folk's lists, but hey, give these great musicians a try!! They are more in alphabetical order than in order of how good they are for me albums are like kids each one is different. you like them for different reasons and the level you like them varies from day-to-day!! Sometimes I may listen to an album and not be to thrilled with it, then listen to it two days later and love it! Rather than rewrite information about the album I've provided links two earlier posts! You may notice that a lot of my music listening is tied to my running so you get a little of both in my posts - such is my life!

So this post has two albums from other artists - yesterday I listened to several tracks from Melancholic Melodies For Broken Times from Swedish singer-songwriter Johan Örjansson and I really enjoyed hearing it again!
