Wooden Horse are a duo from the WestMidlands in England. Jamie Knight and Ben Church play Americana and Country Blues laced with Harmonies, Slide Guitar, Stomp Box, Banjo and Harmonica. www.woodenhorsemusic.co.uk
Their debut album ‘What Comes Around’ was released in 2012 and songs from the album have featured on National Radio (most recently Janice Long played ‘Hell ain’t Going Home’ as one of her ‘Janice Loves’ tracks in September).
After featuring at Moseley Folk Festival this year The Hearing Aid (http://thehearingaid.blogspot.co.uk/) described the performance: ’Wooden Horse delivered another one of the standout sets of the weekend with some fine stompin’ and a testifyin’ blues. When he’s in full flow vocalist Jamie Knight’s as powerful as a hurricane whilst fellow Horse Ben Church is one of the finest finger pickin’ bottle neck melting guitarists this side of the Mississippi Delta.’
In October/November this year the band will be supporting Joan Armatrading on part of her national Tour and playing an intimate gig at the Kitchen Garden Café (http://www.kitchengardencafe.co.uk/) which is one of the Midland’s best small venues.
