We are delighted to move into our Barbaraville Records section of the programme, a community rather than a label, founded by our native Geordie troubadour Martin Stephenson from his Highland hame in (yes you guesed it) Barberaville Ross-shire.  Martin among his many other inovations, first introduce Gypsy Dave Smith to a Highland audiance way back in 1986, he continues to display and has honed his talent for talent spoting and these days helps them release and promote albums too. We present two his latest prodigy's.  Ally MacLeod & Donald Forbes  are Red Hook Rapids and will release their first band album in June of this year on Barberaville Records. Ally's first solo and (radio hit) album Astor Place, which features Donald, and was produced and mentored by Martin, reached 16 in the Euro Free Form Broadcasters Chart, made the top 20 in the FAR world wide Free Form Broadcasters chart, is still in the top 20 of The French Americana Chart, achieving airplay (and sales) across all territories including The USA, and BBC Radio Ulster, Radio Wales and of coarse BBC Radio Scotland where doyen Scottish broadcaster Iain Anderson has strapped himself firmly to their mast.

They met on the impromptu time on the Potting Shed last year, Isaac doing sound and Hamish wowing the gathering with his gut string guitar wizardry, Isaac sad I want to play with him! it was the start of a beautiful friendship, they took it to the Bute Guitar Festival (where Hamish won open mic competition) they blew away Jazz Space in Inverness and have been doing the very same across venue across the Highlands, don't think it will be much different here.

This is where the magic happens and is sceduled on the day and a place for the musician to kick around some ideas and just play.
