Holly Williams/Chris Coleman with Lydia Ramsey at The Triple Door, Seattle-May 7th/13
It's been awhile since i was in Seattle, but when i saw Holly Williams was playing there in May i knew i had to go. In my humble opinion she has produced the best album so far this year and i was anxious to see her at this peak in her career.
First the venue,The Triple Door, is a place of wonder.A mixture of fine cuisine, old style setting, and the most welcoming staff and servers.

the trishas: "drive"-discovered this song as a single on itunes. i never buy singles, but i bought this one. a song this good i couldn't wait for the album. if "drive" ever had real airplay it would storm the charts. inspired songwriting and performance from one of the best newer groups from texas. these women are the real deal!

before 2012 gets too far behind us i have to point out a band that released a great album that largely went unnoticed. the band is called simply-"company" and the release is-"dear america". beautiful melodic songs that bring to mind- band of horses and the shins. if that is up your alley be sure to give this a listen. i meant to have it on my best of 2012 list and of course forgot. i believe cd baby has it and probably itunes as well.

Eric Ambel said… Del-Lords website has good info. Del-Lords Facebook group too.
Eric Ambel said… Yep, we'll be playing. Have an agent for the states and another for overseas.
Eric Ambel said… All good. Official release date is May 14 for Elvis Club. Have a nice jump start going.
I'm going to have to check her out, Norm! Thanks for the recommendation.
I've been a little behind on things the last few weeks, but hope to get caught up (with some current listenings) soon.
cheers

Michael Bialas said… Thanks, Norm. I do know Maria McKee appeared on this year's album by former Lone Justice bassist Marvin Etzioni. The album is Marvin Country! and she sings harmony on "You Possess Me." Would also love to hear more from her.
