Bill Kirchen, twangmeister and guitar-slinger, will be playing a bevy of new tunes from his brand new release "Word to the Wise". Favorites from his days with Commander Cody are a surefire bet to boot! Check out tunes from the CD on the Adirondack Hayride radio show!

Adirondack Hayride Returns to the Saddle

Like the the return of the horses to the Spa, certain summer traditions can be counted on in the Capital District (and insiders will note the irony here) and one of those is the return of the Adirondack Hayride Radio. Beginning this Wednesday June 9th, from 6-8pm, we will present a program chock full of stuff that too often is criminally ignored elsewhere. From classic C&W, bluegrass and honky-tonk to todays sturm und twang, like the Postal Service says, if it fits, it ships! Tune in and…See More

We Play Anything

...is the slogan for WVCR 88.3 here in the Capital Region and that is never more true than when Jimmy Barrett's "Kaleidoscope" airs on Friday mornings from 9-11am. A typical playlist will run the gamut from an obscure blues to garage rock to electronica, with stops for jazz or country & western. Jimmy has been doing radio in the area for decades on various outlets and the depth of his musical knowledge is only matched by his enthusiasm for new discoveries. I was honored recently to be…See More

I'm gonna go with "Stood Up". Just something about the that song, like very few others, that captures the essence of a man's struggle to be the best person he can to both others and perhaps more importantly to himself.

Get Thyself to Church

Downtown Church that is, the latest release from one of our favorite gals, Patty Griffin. Out today on a new label for her, and a slight detour stylistically, nonetheless the hosannas are already being given, find some below. And don't forget to check out the ND streaming event tomorrow!
