Stu Reid commented on Nancy Dunham's blog post 'Review: 'Tennessee Christmas' by Lindi Ortega'

Wow - great to catch up on what's been up with Sam. I wondered often. Had the honour of introducing them onstage twice in Winnipeg and am thrilled to be seeing them here next weekend.   Looking forward to part 2!

Stu Reid commented on JeffK's blog post 'The Lost Music of Marty Brown'
In 2006, Frank Black of the Pixies released "Fast Man Raider Man", a roots-oriented album that featured a cover of "Dirty Old Town" that was a duet with Marty Brown. I'm a huge Marty fan too and was excited to hear this…

Stu Reid commented on No Depression's blog post 'Hayes Carll Interview Contest'
The name of your band is The Poor Choices. The name of badass Winnipeg roots-rocker Andrew Neville's band, who often hold court at Times Change(d) High & Lonesome Club - a venue you've been known to frequent - is also called The Poor…

One of my fave tracks of the year is on the latest Southern Culture On The Skids album where they do an instrumental mashup of Nirvana's "Come As You Are"/"Lucifer Sam" (T-Rex). Smokin'!

Great read, Aimz. Thanks! Do yourself a favour and check out T.O.F.U. (Tons of Fun University), Shane Koyczan's 'other' band. Shane teared me up the first time I accidentally saw them too. TOFU are more overtly musical than…

Great write-up, buddy. I wouldn't have thought somebody like Steve Earle would have to put up with that sort of thing. Just your average unknown bar band, sure, but who pays 50 bucks to go hear a guy do one song and just badger him all night? I…

"I remember my first beer": Steve Earle in Winnipeg - Jan.29, 2010
