I love Exile -- it has its important place in rock n' roll history but the White Album??? come on!!! who cares if the 4 Beatles were in individual studios recording the tunes. The tunes are fabulous. Each side holds such treasures, and in…

Profile Information

A little bit about us....

"Good old fashioned country-rock with some excellent songwriting" - Taproot Radio.

Stovall was started by close friends whose desire was to present a style in the vein of the country/rock music they heard growing up. Always performing an energetic live act, the band creates a sound that has been described as “Cash on Clash.” With their set of original songs and a backbone of influences such as Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Maria McKee, Elvis Costello, and Wilco, Stovall presents convincing classic country filled with pop hooks played by musicians raised on punk ethics.

We are happy to have just released our new record, "True Story". It represents the best of three stylistically different songwriters who have been able to meld their songs into one twangified sound. True Story can be found on Cd Baby, iTunes, and many other online music sites.

Stovall has recently been added to some great internet radio stations such as Boot Liquor, Cosmic American Radio, and Radio Free Americana. We have been played on a recent installment of Americana OK (podcast #178) and were interviewed for Taproot Radio.

Thanks for checking out Stovall!

What? Really?

I love Exile -- it has its important place in rock n roll history but the White Album??? come on! who cares if the 4 Beatles were in individual studios recording the tunes. The tunes are fabulous. There's something about this phase in their career that produces this very interesting work. Each side holds such treasures ; and in addition, such memories for me. As I age, the tunes age like a fine wine, along with me (although my aging is not as fine). Exile has not done the same. I enjoy the… Continue
