Stewart Jackson replied to Joe Rodrigue's discussion 'How Do You Listen To Music?'
Hi Joe I purchase about 4 albums a week, not to mention the many albums given by friend. How to find time to listen to them? When younger I would buy an album and listen to it for weeks (eg 'Animals'-Floyd) and learn every note, every…

Booker T -"Potato Hole", great stuff with The Drive By Truckers and Neil Young playing along with that legendary Hammond organ.

Stewart Jackson replied to Easy Ed's discussion 'Need a Nick Cave Tutorial'
I am beginning to wonder if I have missed something here Ed. I have 'Boatmans call' and I find it a bit lame, lyrically its as bad as Nick Cave gets, sounds like juvenile teenagers poetry to me. However 'Abbatoir Blues' is an…

I cant stop listening to Roy Harpers album-" Death Or Glory", his son, Nick, plays on quite a bit of the album. But one track in particular just leaves me speechless, track 8)Miles Remains-stunning

Just taken delivery of New Avett Brothers album-magnificent, my album of the year so far, adore it. I was worried that once Rick Rubin got hold of them they would sound schmaltzy, but no worries, a triumph.

Hi Declan, well I hope so, in fact since my original post I have reached the point where I consider the album to a bit self indulgent, schmaltzy production and two songs that simply repeats one line of lyric,. However, pleased to hear you enjoyed…

The Duke and The King-its ok, I'm mellowing to it, but its lacking in any real bite, almost MOR, but not quite.

Stewart Jackson replied to Rick Fulton's discussion '5 Artist who can do no wrong'
Yep-Bono and Sting both seemed to get grandiose ideas about their importance in the world, and whilst it is each to their own, I simply can't relate to any of the output from either.

Declan, Its a mistery to me why R. Fontaine don't sell by the wagonload. Apparently they are more popular over here (uk) than over there, hence they tour here about every 12 months. I saw them 4 nights ago, took my girlfrined to see them (her…

I have a deep dislike of U(seless)2 and coldplay. Neither deserve a scintilla of the recognition they get. This may be controversial, I just don't get Gram Parsons-believe me I have tried but it refuses to register in the old ear 'oles.…
