Hey Iaan, where are you? You have not been on the air and Marty Bisch keeps saying that the Thursday slot is now revolving hosts. What happened? You have been the last shining light. I miss your show. Thanks, Steve

Great song to focus on. I've spent a lot of time with it this year and performed it at the Hopvine Pub open mic a couple of weeks ago. To me it is a song about Lefty, and about having mercy for the mercinary.

Thanks for responding Iaan. That is interesting. I was told by Sabrina, the KBCS outreach director, that the mid-day show would be renamed and be hosted by you, Sean, and Americana music director Christine Linde. That would mean that Richard Gilman,…

Iann, I love your edition of the show, but as an avid Lunch with Folks listener I have to disagree with your assessment that the show is "wildly unfocused" Each programmer brings a different perspective, but I do not find it…

Hi Soul, I feel like we're all being sucked into a tide pool. Certainly there's been a lot of confusion about who's doing what and when. I've known Pete and Steve for a long time and don't think either of them had a malicious intent with the station changes, that said, I don't think they had a well thought out plan either and what they did have was done very poorly, even disrespectfully. I had been approached and asked if I would continue hosting a show to which I readily said yes and then was surprised when asked how many days a week I could host. Which of us wouldn't want to play music for a living, but with a wife and a job and baby on the way, etc. it's not realistic for me to spend most of my days volunteering at our station, so I responded with "um, one day." And. to your and many other listeners points, the diversity of voices and tastes at KBCS are part of what makes it so great.

So, the plan, whatever that was as told by Sabrina, wasn't something anyone had agreed to and with a little pressure from the college the staff have opened up the show for try-outs. If you're now thinking, then what the hell is this about, if it's going to be a singularly named show playing Americana music by five different deejays who all volunteer their currently anyways, they we're on the same page. Beats the hell out of me.

I'm posting to you rather than the whole Seattle group only to try to keep things from getting to heated. I have a lot of respect for Dave and love his shows and am not trying to push people's buttons. The whole thing can make a guy crazy.

All that said, your input is valuable and I think I can truly speak for everyone in this one sentiment - thanks for listening!
