Charley Dunlap said… Hey, thanks — I have to say, I don't live in SF any more, I live in Bath, UK. But SF is my home and I & wife used to have a country western band there in the 70s. And an acoustic trio before that — it makes me happy to think we were playing Gram Parsons songs when he was still alive!
I run a gig listings website for Bath (Listomania Bath) and used to write music columns for the local paper (when there was one), including an Americana column. The best gig/promoter in these parts is CRH music, which puts on gigs in Bristol, mostly at St Bonaventures.

Mars, Arizona, like many other American towns, has vanished, forced to shut down it's community due to lack of Funds. Some blame the economy, some blame the state of the music business. Like the American Farmer, it just became too expensive to run the family business any longer and the town was auctioned off to an unnamed entity.
