Hey!
I am a 20 year old singer-songwriter who has grown up on alt-country. My first concert I saw was a free outdoor Wilco show when I was 5. My hero is Neko Case, and most of my other influences in my own music are alt-country / rockabilly / indie rock artists as well.
Check out my website to hear some of my music.

I'm still in the process of recording a CD in Austin, TX whenever I'm able to go down there. I've got 11 original tracks recorded, I just need to overdub some lap steel or violin in certain places and then I'll work on releasing it! I've been playing around town a lot and opened for some pretty cool people like Pieta Brown and Macon Greyson when I'm not studying (I'm also a College student majoring in Creative Writing with a minor in music and voice).
I am on facebook way more than myspace, so also become a fan of the band at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Molly-Trull-Anodyne/52389185317 and get a lot more updates / news that way.
Also check out our youtube for performances of my originals and even some covers:

examples:
covering "Back to Me" by Kathleen Edwards
a solo, acoustic original of mine called "Boxes" performed at the legendary Luckenbach, TX
covering "Furnace Room Lullaby" by Neko Case
"King of Hearts" ... another recent original
Anyway, enough about my band. I joined this site because I've been an avid reader of the magazine since I was young (we still have almost all the issues in our living room), and I've also been an avid listener of alt-country / americana / what have you. It's hard to find people my age who like the same kind of music I do, but I manage.
I just transferred from the University of Missouri (which I hated) to Stephens College, both in Columbia, MO (and I've been here all my life), and it's a great little college town for music. I've seen some fantastic shows here; we get really good acts coming through and have a lot of fun.
Talk to me. I'm shy, but I'm friendly... and I LOVE to talk music. My current obsession is The Dutchess and the Duke, but I've also been listening to a lot of Carrie Rodriguez and Neko Case as always.
