Malcolm McKinney replied to Jim Pipkin's discussion 'Is a Folkie just an Americana Artist Whose Band Quit?' in the group Folk Alley
A lot of artists have added to the confusion by listing their music in as many categories as possible in the hope that it will increase their visibility. I still think there is some validity in the categories of Folk Styles- Bluegrass, Blues,…

Thanks, Malcolm. We are in the planning stages for our second record...will probably record in the fall and release next winter. Hope you like that one too!

Nashville is just dandy but I think we're moving to Savannah, Georgia, for a while...just for a change of scenery. I love Nashville but it's changed in the 26 years that I've lived here.

Hope to run into you someday!

Lyrics for Steel My Heart on CD = Balancing the Weight of Life

Steel My Heart on CD = Balancing the Weight of Life

I can hear her talking and it sounds like broken glass

I know the signs something terrible is coming to pass

She’s getting ready to serve up misery and it’s all gonna pour right down on me

I can hear her talking and it sounds like broken glass

Steel my heart, Lord, steel my heart

There’s an ill wind blowing and it’s gonna tear me apart

Steel my heart, Lord, steel my heart

I got a real bad… Continue

Lyrics for My Home Florida on CD = My Home Florida

My Home Florida on CD = My Home Florida

Come on in, have an orange

I’ve picked one just for you

Then we can walk on down to the water’s edge

And I’ll show you my favorite view

My home Florida

From Jacksonville to Miami

It’s been good to me and I’d like you to see

My home Florida

We can airboat early on the River of Grass

Watch gators lying in the sun

We can fish for crappie on the Withlacoochee

And fry them up when… Continue

Lyrics for Snake Oil on CD = The High Cost of Living

Snake Oil on CD = The High Cost of Living

He’s got the look, he’s got the talk

He’s got charisma, he can walk the walk

He may be selling today

But I’m not buying it, not buying his snake oil

She’s got the figure, she’s got the style

She’s got the come on down with the perfect smile

She may be charming today

But I’m not buying it, not buying her snake oil

Some people seem warm on the outside,

But they are cold and cruel on the… Continue

Lyrics for The Blue Martini and the Belly Dancer on CD = My Home Florida

The Blue Martini and the Belly Dancer on CD = My Home Florida

I was walking in Delray one night when I heard a cool guitar

I followed that music to its source it was coming from the Blues End Bar

It wasn’t hard detective work, it’s a quiet part of town

And I can’t resist the wine and song so I entered and sat down

They serve something called the purple drink and a blue martini too

Course I never stop to think and I poured down quite a few

The floor… Continue
