Profile Information

"Mark is a singer/songwriter whose music has traveled from the hills of Oklahoma to the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Influenced by such greats as Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Willie Nelson, Mark nurtures their heritage of storyteller and poet. Using a voice that enfolds the listener in depth of emotion, Mark creates a straight-talking Western/ American style of music which has become his own rich, signature sound.
Some are blessed with a voice to sing and some are blessed with words that touch our hearts. Mark is blessed with the talents of both!"

This is on my band's reverbnation page, and it seems to work well.
However, as with all promotional tools, there may be a bit of exaggeration here. Actually, I'm a guy who works in a factory during the day and plays and writes music at night. I've raised two kids and have been married 23 years to the same woman and am very proud of it. I've been fortunate enough to work with some of the best musicians in and around San Diego including the guys in my current lineup. I've worked with Randy Sterling (one time guitarist and bass player for Neil Diamond) who co-produced my first record "Vigilante Road" and Alan Sanderson (the Rolling Stones, Ryan Adams, Elvis Costello . . .) who mixed my second record "Love may take the long road Home" and co-produced my third record "A Real Charmed Life".
Yes, I've been blessed with good friends and supporters and am grateful.

Mark,

Shaun Paul Gordon suggested I check out your music. Good call, Shaun. Just saying hello from Los Angeles. Good stuff. Someday, I'd like to ask you a mess of questions re: the San Diego scene. It remains a mystery to me. But that's for another night. Right now, I'm going to listen to your songs.

Sweet! The recording sounds great, obviously. I will head over and put in a vote and spread the word.

And it'd be great to play some joints down SD way - let's definitely stay in touch.

Howdy! Thanks for the kind words.

I haven't made it to San Diego yet - stick around L.A. mostly. But a buddy and I were thinking of heading down there some time in the near future and playing a show.

I usually play solo acoustic, but have just started playing out with a band around L.A. which has been a lot of fun.

Last Exit to Lakeside is spinning now...incredible. Great tones & texture!

Mark,
Thanks for the welcome! Although my folks have been in NM for 15 years, I am relatively new here. I was just in Taos and ran into some fellow musicians from Lawrence, Kansas (where I'm from) playing at the Taos Inn -- good venue. I would say that Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos are the towns with the best bet. I still haven't honed in on the best clubs, though. I'm temporarily in Las Cruces in the southern part of the state, and it's not a great music city, but it is 40 minutes from El Paso, TX. Stay in touch and let me know when you'll be in this neck of the desert. Best wishes, Jeremy
