Pete said… To say that Neil is standing still is quite wrong. In the last year, he issued a record of re-worked old time songs -- "Americana" and an album with Crazy Horse on which they explore perhaps well-trod musical ground but the stories are enticing...He has done the folk, rock, country rock, hard rock, rockabilly, even electronic (Trans) thing...He is about to embark on a tour of Australia and enjoys the admiration of fellow musicians, critics, and fans...Go back to Prairie Wind (it's on youtube) and tell me those aren't wonderful songs...oh, yeah, he did a solo electric tour, Le Noise, too, something I can't ever remember another artist doing...He's also trying to return the "fullness" to our listening experience with a device called a "Pono" (Hawaiian for righteous) that gives the listener a broader spectrum of the actual music that the performers recorded. Standing still? I think not. And don't let me get started on Bob...it's easy to criticise, dude...methinks you need to leave your comfy musical confines and listen more to the grand masters of 20th century American song -- they'll be heralded in future centuries as songsmiths, performers, and prodigious influences on millions...
