Granted, most of us get our life-changing experiences in adolescence when everything weighs in so much heavier. Growing up in St. Louis, the late-night DJ on K-SHE would play "Desolation Row" each night at about 3 a.m.  When I was about thirteen I'd wake up every night to listen to it. It taught me how layers of meaning could come from strong imagery and metaphor in songs and poetry and that nobody need ever settle for the cliche, even among simple chords. Sex Pistols. "God Save the Queen". I know this is probably not the right forum for this song, but man, when I first heard that in college, 1976, it wired me like no other song has since. Like d boon said a few years later, "No hope?…

I was in a bad way, flipping through albums at the local record store, and the guy is playing this new Neil Young. I stood listening to the entire album and took it home. It literally turned me around, "Comes a time, when you're drifting,…

Kit, in my opinion Prine's best song ever. When I spoke with him back then he still thought of himself as being on leave from being a mailman, I think fully expecting to return.

BTW, Fred's right about a clean 20 watts... it's all about the headroom (what's leftover at top wattage to be pushed, for peaks). The Deluxe is only 22 watts, the way it's rated. Some amps over-rate their power so you get a…

You can get a Fender Deluxe re-issue for about $750. It's 42 lbs. though. I can't think of a tube amp you can get for less...you probably don't want to sacrifice tubes for weight, though... The Hot Rod Deluxe is 45 lbs, nice amp…

Only for you, Sweetie.

I'm trying to decide between a photo of me at Eight years old on a pony with chaps, vest and hat or the cover of my last CD "Oh Bubba, Where Art Thou?"
