"My favorite movie from last year!   The scene with Merry Clayton and Mick Jagger separately listening to the isolated vocal track of Gimme Shelter is absolutely, spine-tingly brilliant."

"Twenty years ago, I think I listened to Greg Brown's song "Out in the Country" (the whole Iowa Waltz album, actually) pretty much every day while stuck in a vanpool in Seattle traffic for 2-3 hours every day.   That song was like…"

Blue Waters Bluegrass Festival Announces 2011 Lineup

Across the Cascade Mountains from Seattle and the crowded I-5 corridor, across the wide, arid Columbia Basin to where the Ponderosa forests spill out of Idaho and into Northeast Washington, there is a land of lakes.  Clear waters, warm days & cool nights, blue skies, no humidity.   On the shores of one of these lakes -- Medical Lake, just a dozen miles east of Spokane -- during the second weekend of August, one of the best-kept secrets of Northwest Music Festivals is held:   The…

I will get it on my calendar. I am planning on it this year! Hey by the way, through a series of events I got to hear this guy in a small private gig 35 people at an art gallery. Are you familiar with him? We hung out and with him and his wife and were overserved at a friend's house. The highlight of the set was this song. He played solo. He also did a cover of Bust Stop by the Hollies that was good as well.
