Wow, great interview, and thanks to Mary for being so forthcoming. I will definately get her new CD, and take it to my visit with my daughter in Nashville. I turned her on to MG at a great show at the Tractor, too many years ago.
Oh Patty, pick one song, it would depend on my mood. I love Heavenly Days, so soulful. Then for fun Baking Pies. I would love to hear /have her new disk.
So much to see on board, and I did see the John Hiatt, Lyle Lovett pairing, it was one of the highlights of the cruise for me. They joked and played off each other, and Lyle can raise an eyebrow with the best of them. Will like to catch them in Seat…
Sixthman has the rock boat, and the Cayamo ship was truly rocking and rolling and not just from the great music that 24 hr period. Wind closed parts of the decks and kept the majority of folks from pool side for the Lovell Sisters (Larkin Poe). Make…
Since I am going on Cayamo cruise, I have no 'right' to apply for these fine tickets, but I would love to go and take my music friend Randy.
Randy and I had a great time at the No Depression festival this summer and it was so great to see Gillian a…
3d time the charm, I hope that we can meet up some other time too, as Lana and I have 6 p.m. Lyle show. I see that Becki has signed on to the group, so maybe a late night meet up and one of the bars after show #3?
Hi Kathy,
I thought the deck shows were great last year.Much better than the year before, when everyone captured all the seats at the break of dawn!! There was much better visibilty. And Kathryn is right, the theatre is so much better than it was on the Victory.
I especially liked it right before sun set(I have a great photo of Web Wilder and his band, playing as the sun started to set.
I'm not even sure I'm getting off in Belize, to tell you the truth. I haven't really cared much about the destinations. I usually stay out pretty late, so I like sleeping in, getting breakfast and just hanging out. I have my guitar, so I usually use that time to play. I find the excursion stuff too expensive, and the cruise is enough in itself. So, instead of spending on the destinations, I spring for the balcony, which is the absolute best!
I saw your comment Cruzin but couldn't figure out where to reply to you. The Dawn is wonderful but a very different ship than the Victory. On the Victory they set up a stage for the deck shows, last year they didn't do that on the Dawn, they used a small gazebo-like area that wasn't as effective besides we had a few days of rough seas so they had to move everything indoors anyway. I don't know what their plan is but if the weather cooperates I guess they can always move outside. The indoor venues are spectacular you won't be disappointed. Safe trip, see you on the ship - Kathryn
