"first person I thought of........Jerry Reed (yes I know he's on the original posted list).  Here's a list (in my humble opinion) of folks that should be on any top guitarist of country and/or roots genre.  Not in any…"

Real Country Music (Outlaws and a few others)

This group is for followers, fans, or performers, of true country music. Most, not all, but most of today's so-called country is anything but country. This is a group to discuss true, pure country music.

"I think he caught the wave along with Willie and Waylon of being outlaws somehow and did a couple of good albums. I can't remember the last good one, but his song "Major Moves" is as good as anyone can write."

Music City Is Burning Down

When I heard the news that George Jones had died last friday morning, It was as if Mike Tyson had gut punched me.  I have many fond memories of my mom and my old man listening to Possum.  On the morning of Friday April 26, 2013, many of those memories came flooding back.  Yes, I cried.  Because George Jones died?  Sure.  (Let it be known, I also remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard Waylon and Cash died.)  Also, because of all those happy memories.  I spent all of…

CD Review - Hank Williams Jr. "Old School/New Rules"

I remember a young Johnny Cash, waiting in the wing/ Cause he'd hand me his cigarette, when he'd go out to sing/ And the good Ol Marshall Tucker Band, back in '83/ Was a special night they asked me, "Come on out and play Can't You see."

That's the first few lines from the song "Old School" on Hank Williams Jr. new album Old School/New Rules.  In this track Hank sings about some fellow legends from Dolly to Jerry Lee Lewis.  He expresses how proud he is to be from the Old…

Dallas Moore Band Live Review

 Dallas Moore Band Live Review:

As soon as I heard it was confirmed, I knew I would be there and would write a review. April 2012, The Dallas Moore Band, in Bowling Green, Ky at the Spillway. It was a Thursday, Work was a conflict of schedule but I would Manage. Not to mention my poor girlfriend who had to deal with my drunk a** and drive me home (which ended up being 2am).  I interviewed Dallas and hung out with the band. They all proved to be  a group of home…
