My thoughts on Woody Guthrie

My first thoughts on Woody were "wow"...A voice as rough as the imagined floor of a freight train and romantic as a mountain sunset and as real as the dirt on the Oklahoma farms I dreamt about from my Brooklyn neighborhood. Woody Guthrie who seemingly could make a song up on the spot. Woody Guthrie who with simple language could cut through layers of bullshit and make history real, make history breathe, who could write the most innocent childrens verse and the most scathing political diatribe…See More

Hey, Joel, I saw you put on my wall about the show you are attending....you need to go to the Boston music scene and join the group. You will be glad you did. It's already growing and people are talking about upcoming shows and that sort of thing. See if this link works.

Hi ! I noticed you are in the Boston area. I am not sure if you are aware or not but we have started a Boston ND group on this website in hopes of keeping each other up to date on what shows are coming up in the area and talk music-that sort of thing. We would love to have you as a member. We just started a few days ago but hopefully it will grow into a fun community of people and we can see some great shows. I am hoping to get a calendar started that will highlight the shows people on the list recommend. Anyway, consider this an invitation and by all means pass the word.... I hope to see on the site-Ali Williams
