This appears to be a 2-song sampler.  Any idea how to download the entire album?

Jeff Gilbert replied to thevandalstookmyhandle's discussion 'Emusic'
I'm a regular user of eMusic.  Prices have risen quite a bit in the past year or so, but still less than many other download services.  If you buy albums (which I do), they will tend to be $3-$4 less than iTunes.  It can get…

Jeff Gilbert replied to Albert's discussion 'Will music be presented differently with the demise of the cd?'
I always have been and always will be an album-oriented guy.  I buy 99% of my music via download these days, but I always buy complete albums.  Fortunately, the artists I care about are still recording fully realized albums.  But I…

Jeff Gilbert replied to T Hanssen's discussion 'What is your favorite album this week?'
Yes indeed; two really terrific albums.  On the other hand, I'm baffled by the new Jolie Holland.  I can't get through more than two songs before moving on to something I know I'll like.  I've liked her previous…

Any hints on how to access this?  I assume the URL would be www.turntable.fm, but that doesn't seem to get me anywhere.

Jeff Gilbert replied to Albert's discussion 'How To Organize Large CD Collections'
I love the slim plastic cases.  But does anyone have suggestions about what to do with all those empty jewell cases?  I don't think they can be recycled.

Jeff Gilbert replied to T Hanssen's discussion 'Give the drummer some, then take a little bit back'
Wow, thanks so much for this clip.  I love Joey Baron's drumming.  As a former (but not good) drummer, the first thing I hear is always the drums, and poor or even mediocre drumming inevitably ruins the music for me, no matter how…

Oops . . . my mistake.  All the Dirt is on CD Baby, but Growing Up Stupid is not.  You can find that on iTunes.

Thanks for a great discovery!  Her first album also sounds great.  Both are available on CD Baby.

Jeff Gilbert commented on Shane Tutmarc's blog post 'Top 10 Songs for Judgment Day'
I think the theme song of Judgment Day depends on which way you're going.  For the chosen few, "Here Comes the Sun."  For the rest of us, "Sympathy For the Devil."

Jeff Gilbert replied to T Hanssen's discussion 'What is your favorite album this week?'
I wondering why there are such polarized opinions about the latest Decemberists.  I didn't particularly like their earlier stuff, but I really like The King Is Dead.  And yet some people think it's crap.  There don't…

Jeff Gilbert replied to Bill Kuhn's discussion 'What was the weirdest show lineup you ever witnessed?'
It happened in Barton Hall on the Cornell campus.  My freshman year, which means it was 1965 or 1966.  A two-part show, with the opening set by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles first.   Very mid-60's Motown; lots of dancing…

Jeff Gilbert replied to Kyla Fairchild's discussion 'Sibling Harmony - Thoughts on the phenomenon and examples?'
The Parkington Sisters!!!  I'd never heard of them but decided to go to their concert, just on a whim.  Three violins (not fiddles), a cello and a guitar.  And talk  about sibling harmonies!  They combine all the best…

The eagerly anticipated digital release of Kirsten DeHaan’s EP “Thorns On A Crown” is right around the corner. On Tuesday October 6, the new and highly acclaimed alternative rock singer and songwriter’s songs can be purchased at major online retailers such as iTunes, Amazon.com, Napster, and EMusic. Kirsten has developed quite a following in a relatively short period of time, because of the uniqueness of her voice and style, which has been compared to the sweetness of Liz Phair, a soft, airy quality like that of Sia, and the rich alto of Fiona Apple.

In the meantime, register and download her single "1984" for free at HYPERLINK "http://kdlocal.com" http://kdlocal.com

Hi Jeff, I found out that Amie street is one of the digital distribution companies that CD baby uses. I'm not really sure how it works on your end, if you had to buy a membership like napster, etc. but I guess that they offer music for free until alot of people start downloading it and then they start charging. I checked my lists of downloads from CD baby and I had none from that site, so that's why my music is free there, my downloads are coming from more heavily used sites like Amazon and Itunes. So it is legit, while I am not happy about it, that's just the way they work and part of the deal with my distributor. Thanks again for pointing this out to me!

Thanks for the heads up Jeff! I did not know about that. I try my best to keep a handle on everywhere my music is, but it is hard to keep track of everything, thanks so much for letting me know!
