In 1992 I started a shoegazer slow core psych band called "Stillmotion." We were fans of Rick's endeavors, and though Def American (now just American) seemed like an unlikely label for our music, we sent our 3 song cassette demo…

new to Seattle.....

Glad I stumbled upon this site. I'm new around these parts (though I toured through around six years ago), and really like it here. Originally from Upstate NY, I've always wanted to live on the west coast. Back East I was used to being (mostly) a full time musician (whatever that means). But out here I'm back to square one. I'd love to meet some like minded folks and start playing some gigs again. I've gone down and played with the oldtime social at Conor Byrne a few times which was great. But I'd like to do some solo stuff, and also put together a duo or trio of oldtime music primarily for gigging. Back East I had a few successful groups which were a lot of fun.
Cheers,
- gp

Hi GP - good to hear from you, nice stuff, and welcome to Seattle! S&H's series is booked until June, and then we'll be taking the summer off, perhaps resuming in the fall. Hope to see you around sometime! :)

How about we go live at 1pm. So, I'd say be there by 12:40 or so to get settled and warmed up, etc.

That's great, and as I'm re-reading my post to you I see I failed to mention the catch. The KBCS membership drive will still be going on during the 15th. If you come down, I'd have to twist your arm into making a plea for people to send us money and become members!

If you'd rather not, there's no catches on the 27th. Either way is cool.

The station address is: 3000 Landerholm Circle SE | Bellevue, WA 98007. From Seattle: Follow I-90 eastbound. Take exit 11A, stay to the left and take the second exit to Eastgate Way. The ramp will merge you onto S 150th heading North. Proceed through the first stoplight (SE Eastgate Way) and get in the left lane. At the second stoplight (SE 28th St) turn left into Bellevue College's main entrance. Stay in the right lane and proceed to the roundabout; when you come upon the traffic circle the road will automatically take you to the right. Follow the signs to Eastern University. You will see the parking garage directly ahead. Turn right at the road before the parking garage. You'll see the F2 parking lot on your right. Park there and ask for a temporary parking permit at the station, which you will need to put the dashboard of your vehicle.

Clear as mud I'm sure!

Hi Gregory,

My name is Iaan Hughes and I host The Outskirts, an Americana music program Thursdays on KBCS out of Bellevue. I saw your post about your Halloween show at Shadowlands and wanted to see if you'd be interested in coming on the big show. It's from 12noon - 3pm which can be tricky with day jobs, but if you're interested it would be about 15-25 minutes of interview with about 2-4 songs. If you came on the 15th we could plug your show, but I could also have you on my Halloween show on the 29th. Let me know what you think!
