Another Hundred Miles

Another Hundred Miles is an American rock band made up of Douglas Holmes and Daniel Maynard. The two met in Rhode Island and first began writing music together in 1996. They released an EP in 2003 of acoustic-rock and alt-country songs, titled "Siren Songs."

In 2006 they began work on their first full length studio album, "Move the Fader," and focused on creating a more diverse and developed sound than was present in their previous work. Recording the album spanned three years and four states. It contains eight new tracks, in addition to new versions of three songs that previously appeared on "Siren Songs" (Kicked You Out the Door, Fifth Wheel, and Way Out West).

The band's most notable influences include Whiskeytown, Uncle Tupelo, The Old 97's, The Refreshments, Built to Spill, and Blind Melon. While the band is chiefly comprised of Doug Holmes and Dan Maynard, live shows feature a rotating lineup of musicians including Ryan Murphy (drummer, formerly of 'Stroma'), John Lanou (bassist, 'Stroma'), and Nathan Hobbs (bassist, drummer of 'Living Faux').

Am I asking too much for hoping Gillian releases this on vinyl?  Probably, I'll keep quiet now.

Anecdotal stories should always be taken with a grain of salt.  Compare the number of independent and prolific novelists to independent musicians and you can quickly see why it's easier to breakthrough as the former rather than the latter.…

Hey ya'll, great group idea. My band just released our first album and we'd love to get some feedback. We have strong alt-country influences from Whiskeytown, Uncle Tupelo, the Old 97's and the Refreshments. But you can also hear bits…

Hey thanks! So - how's life in Kingston, Jerz? It used to be real nice around there. I moved to O-town permanently in '98. Don't know when, if ever, I'll get back to Jersey. Let me know if you're ever down this way.
Peace,
Bob
