David Bennett commented on Adam Sheets's blog post 'Review: John Mellencamp- No Better than This'
I gotta say, "The Lonesome Jubilee" and "Scarecrow" are hard to beat, but "Freedom's Road," "Life, Death, Love and Freedom" and "No Better Than This" are all among the five best albums of his…

David Bennett commented on Adam Sheets's blog post 'Review: John Mellencamp- No Better than This'
One pet peeve: all punctuation should be within the quotation marks. For example, this sentence: This is followed by "Easter Eve", which is the second song here to crack the six-minute mark. Should look like this: This is followed by…

Here's "Love at First Sight," the song Adam states in his review as his favorite of Mellencamp's entire career. It truly is great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0d2ilfkmoQ

David Bennett commented on Adam Sheets's blog post 'Review: John Mellencamp- On the Rural Route 7609'
Here's a review I found on the Mellencamp fan club: I had the opportunity to listen to John Mellencamp’s new box set “On The Rural Route 7609” a few times this week through a friend of mine who writes record reviews for a…

David Bennett commented on Adam Sheets's blog post 'John Mellencamp- American Troubadour'

as I said before - when Springsteen came with all that stuff by the end of the nineties - and to see and hear him perform * Youngstown * live on stage was brilliant * - I had seen John do that ten years earlier in Paris when playing the Lonesome Jubilee with a thirteen piece - me thinks; and that was mind-blowing, amazing, sheer brilliance; and there were like 5 or 6 thousand Parisians up on their feet to cheer; in fact I never expected that; I never knew anyway what to expect - but it was so much better than all the Gunners and Cinderellas - or Prince, that came to town about that time.
