BIO
“American Roots Music artist, D.B. Rielly was only six months old when, upon hearing David Hasselhoff sing, he immediately soiled his diaper and vowed to bring good music back to a starving generation. Since then, he has tirelessly pursued his quest, all the while narrowly avoiding work, debt collectors, and liver failure.”
D.B. Rielly is a singer/songwriter/composer and multi-instrumentalist (accordion/banjo/guitar player) who can be heard on over 40 independent recordings and films. D.B. Rielly revels in and reinterprets the powerful music that built this country and takes his listeners on a nostalgic journey into a previous era. On this journey, D.B. and his trio conjure up the varying textures of the American sonic landscape — past and present.
It’s American Roots music the way it should be. And, on his first full-length album release, “Love Potions and Snake Oil” — a wide-ranging collection of Americana music spanning several genres including Roots, Zydeco, Blues and Alt. Country — D.B. promises his always-diverse listeners an “instantaneous cure for all afflictions.” And if not completely satisfied, D.B., the salesman, adds, “I personally guarantee that if these here concocted remedies fail to eliminate all the trouble & woe that befall man or beast… I’ll eat a bug.”
D.B. has played live at such prestigious venues as Lincoln Center, The Montreux Jazz Festival, Staples Center, and The Apollo Theater. He has performed or recorded with B.B. King, The Boston Pops, Chubby Checker, and Paul Schaffer, among others. He’s been heard on all major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS) and many cable networks (HBO, TMC, CINEMAX, BET, Lifetime) as well.
With D.B. Rielly, the story always leads back to the campfire… You may spot him hitching a ride somewhere — anywhere you’re headed is fine. You may spot him in a deserted diner trying to look up the waitress’ skirt. But one thing is certain: Wherever dogs are howling and little children are holding their ears, you’ll find D.B. Rielly and his squeezebox.
