Best gospel (ish) song by non-gospel artists

I’ve seen posts like this pop up elsewhere on ND, so I’ll give it a shot. Call it "Gospel Edge" founder’s privilege.What are your favorite roots gospel (or strongly gospel-influenced) songs by artists who are NOT primarily Christian/gospel artists? In other words, despite production by Jeff Tweedy, we can’t include Mavis Staples. She’s gospel. But Ricky Skaggs, though he’s recorded many gospel albums, qualifies because he’s still primarily bluegrass. (Though he didn’t make the cut on my list.)…See More

Hey Bruce, My wife and I have a band called The Wayside. You can hear our latest record - which is our first all Gospel record - at www.TheWaysideStore.com -- Technically we're just outside your range as we both just turned 41, but we've been doing this stuff for 20 years so we were young not too long ago ;) We did do a couple records for fringe Christian labels in the past, but we're all indie now.
