I loved Video Games the first time I saw the clip on Dutch (Oldies) TV. Not knowing who it was and many months ago. Some songs get you no matter where they come from.

Haven't heard the album yet, but the single Born to Die grabbed my attention - I love it.  Jack - you should listen to The Turtles' version of Sugar Sugar if you haven't already - much better, although The Archies' version…

This is the kind of music writing I can get behind...comes from a genuine place, though provoking, and leads to interesting discussion!  Well done, Autopsy IV!

Silly, you obviously bake (or at least microwave) them. Haven't read the directions yet. You'd have to see the thread on HoJo's fried clams...

This isn't a commentary on labels and PR machines manufacturing images, artists or sounds. This is a commentary on why we're all to happy roll with it sometimes and yet be repulsed by it at others.

Anyone who thinks record companies manufacturing the sound is new never heard of The Wrecking Crew (if you get a chance to see the film about these great musicians in back of most of the hits of the sixties, do so).

Which is why I was at least trying to bring the other "politically correct" discussion of music videos back to (or to) a discussion of music (I forgot that music videos are now taken seriously). But, never mind. It's your website, as…

What's that song?  Don't fence me in...  Americana Schamericana I don't want to live in a world (or own a website) that is strictly limited to what is or isn't deemed to be Americana.

Lana Del Rey: Chicken McNugget or McRib?

This article is reprinted from Ninebullets.net. Feel free to stop by and comment on the original post.

Doing a little research on Lana Del Rey (admittedly, I'd never heard of her till her SNL appearance) it's become 100% evident that she's a complete creation by her record label.

That said, I like her…

Pimping Other People's Podcasts....

I don’t wanna come off as whining too much but I did wanna talk about something I’ve noticed over the past year or two. There was a time where the blogging scene was kind of united, we read each other’s blogs, commented on each other’s blogs and once twitter took hold we retweeted one anothers blog posts. Really, that doesn’t happen too much any more. I am just as guilty as anyone else. Not sure why it happened but all the bloggers seem to have just perched up on their own little internet…

Ninebullets Radio: Episode 54 (aired 01.12.2012)

Last night we took to the air for the latest episode of Ninebullets Radio. I decided to have a little bit of fun this week mixing in a set of "americana versions of popular hip hop songs that are not done by The Gourds." It got a lot more positive feedback than I thought it would so I might do it again someday. Do you know of any that you'd like to suggest?

Anyhow, here is…

Jason Isbell vs. Dierks Bentley: Coincidence Or Theivery?

Last night, on his twitter feed Jason Isbell leveled the following charge: ""Dierks" has officially ripped off my song "In A Razor Town." Dierks is a douchebag."

The song Jason was referring to is a song called "Home". Having never heard the song I shot on over to youtube to check it out and....wow.

Personally, I think it's way too close to be coincidence but I'd love to hear your opinion on the subject. Here are both…

"If I were to trace the genealogy of the country music Outlaw, it would start with Bobby Bare, roll through Willie & Waylon and that whole gang, follow Cash through the late 90′s, and end up in the country music underground with people like Peewee Moore as possibly the perfect example of the Outlaw lineage in the present day"
