"Lucky enough to live in Peterborough, ON where the Sadies make frequent appearances. Saw them two weeks ago at the Red Dog Tavern and once again couldn't believe my good fortune to see such an incredible band in a small venue. The audience…"
"I've only ever seen the Sadies perform in a folk festival setting. I really must remedy that.
I did write about them for a Canadian Bands You Should Know series that I do for the National Music Centre…"
For those who have seen the Sadies live, nothing ever sounds quite the same again. I remember the first time I saw them, at Call the Office in 2007 (or was it 2008?), I was blown away by the energy of the performance. I've since seen them in 10 other venues, including Aeolian Hall, Lee's Palace, the Horseshoe, Victoria Parks in two different cities (that's Canada for you), and the Toronto Reference Library. "If I were to trace the genealogy of the country music Outlaw, it would start with Bobby Bare, roll through Willie & Waylon and that whole gang, follow Cash through the late 90′s, and end up in the country music underground with people like Peewee Moore as possibly the perfect example of the Outlaw lineage in the present day" -Kyle Coroneos, www.savingcountrymusic.com
