alt-country bars in your area

Any clever band would use every inch of the podcast and alt-country radio show discussions, but what would really be handy is a list of good bars that host alt-country bands written by the people who know.So speak up! When bands come to your town where should they play? What bars should they avoid and why.My area : North TexasDallasThe Double WideAdairsThe GranadaHouse of BluesFort WorthLola's Sixth StreetLola's Stockyards (there's two Lola's)Longhorn SaloonFred's (smaller outdoor venue)The…See More

I'm surprised Jeff left out Precinct Bar in Cambridge/Somerville, home of the 3rd annual Gram National for two nights on Parsons' birthday, Friday, Nov. 5 and Saturday too, one of the great venues in town. As for Harper's Ferry, you…

In Toronto, I've spent much time and money at The Cadilac Lounge. The Dakota is real good too and I've seen some great live shows at the Legendary Horseshoe Tavern.

The Taphouse in Norfolk, VA. as well as The Taphouse in Hampton, VA....that's it for Tidewater , VA. Other than those 2 venues, Hampton Roads is a place for punk bands, shitty rock bands and cover bands...an occasional country…

100 Damned Guns

Plywood, East Texas and Moe Bandy’s Second Cousin

We’re not a band with a pay guarantee. That is to say, we’ll usually play for whatever is listed on the original show offer without much negotiation. This usually includes beers, cheap wells, a few people on the guest list and a percentage of the door. Bigger shows will often give us a room backstage and maybe a little food to boot, but after years and years of gigging we’ve learned how to identify “The Greatest Shows You Will Ever Play In Your Life” from all the other bullshit. I’m here to… Continue

100 Damned Guns

Podcast braggadocia and other drunken rambles.

In terms of bragging, being invited to be featured on a podcast is between your mom thinking you are handsome and headlining at a Bar B Que joint, but this particular podcast gets promoted on NPR and features an in depth look at single CD.

This week is our CD.

Our CD that I don't honestly like listening to.

There's nothing wrong with our CD per se. We put everything we had into it, but I don't honestly like to hear my own voice and I judge my own songwriting… Continue

100 Damned Guns

Hello, we're 100 Damned Guns.

We're an alt-country band from Fort Worth, TX. We're a pretty young band compared to a lot of the No Depression seasoned veterans We've just released our second CD and have a lot of fun playing shows and meeting people.

I uploaded some photos and a couple of Mp3s, I hope you like them.

We're big fans of Split Lip, Mountain Sprout, Trampled By Turtles and the Avett Brothers. So if you like those cats hopefully you will like us too.

I wish I had something… Continue

Welcome gentlemen. Liked what I heard. This #$@# site has me spending far too much money on music.I can see 2 more CDs in my collection. I hear the Trinity river in your music. I miss cowtown. Gotta get back. Miss the tornados and scorpions. Have you played Sons of Hermann Hall yet? Bass Hall? ( kidding) I hope KHYI has put you in rotation. And don't worry about saying something brilliant here. You're music speaks for itself, and it's brilliant.
