Yeah. Gotta hear the metal album. He's supposed to have 4 releases this year. I wonder who's playing bass with him now? BTW, there's a book that came out recently from Neal Casal, called, "A View of Other Windows". Check it out. It's a great document of the band on the road and in the studio.

My favorite album would be Stranger's Almanac the Deluxe Edition. Ryan has so much great material...I have all of the officially released stuff and most of the unofficial (bootlegged) session and live music. Some of my favorites tracks are Faithless Street, Excuse Me If...., Come Pick Me Up, Lighthouses (Elizabethtown sessions), The Bar is a Beautiful Place (Gold extra disc), Concrete Sky (duet with Beth Orton), Stop, Follow the Lights, and Dear Chicago just to name a few. Ryan is so unpredictable....he just released a metal album...can't wait to see what he does next! And his wife is hot too!!!

Very excellent! Great to hear stories and wishing I had been awake about this band sooner, don't know if Whiskeytown ever made up here to Canada or not.

Ryan is cool and quirky. Seen him lots o' times. Did actually see Whiskeytown at SXSW at the Austin Music (or Town) Hall (I believe). This was in '98 or '99. Somewhere around there. I'm pretty sure they ended with a SEARING version of Waiting to Derail. Then, Ryan being Ryan, promptly jammed off stage clearly pissed about something. Cut the set short - went about :30 min if that. Left everyone kinda bummed. But the set was great. Saw him with Catlin Cary and Hazeldine the next day at a local hotspot for tacos. Been so long. Remember a giant Senorita on top of the building and it being next to a great vintage western wear store. Don't Wanna Know Why, Dancing with the women at the bar, waiting to derail, 16 days and cover of Song For You which you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9hNExzwlhA

Iv'e been a fan for a while now ever since "gold" love his stuff. Love his Whiskeytown stuff as well, Pneumonia is a great album. Seen Ryan live twice, probably enjoyed the second concert with The Cardinals better. Ryan himself seems to be this shy guy who doesn't enjoy the limelight too much but never the less a great night out ( to answer Scott's question)

I recently found Ryan & Whiskeytown, and I love what I have heard so far. I like Easy Hearts. Scuse me while i break my own heart, Come Pick Me Up, Sweet Carolina, Faithless st....I need to start collecting. Lots of great music I need to catch up on. Killer song writing. Kinda reminds me a tiny bit of Loudon Wainwright. I am definitely a new fan!
