hey Chicago friends (yeah, I moved but.... it was for love), letting you know about Chicago artist Will Phalen who is playing at Schuba's on the 27th and celebrating the release of his first solo record, Holy Ghost / Gold Coast, a really groovy digital-folk foray that is starting to see some action left-of-the-dial! Please let me know if you are interested in receiving a copy of the disc. Cheers, Dave

Well, being born and raised in that great city, and the title being my favorite Wilco song, this site was just calling to me.

I know this group isn't exactly roots, but it's for a fund-raiser to get guitars & guitar lessons into the hands of less-fortunate kids.  The Grammy-winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet is playing at a fund-raiser at Harper College in Palatine on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 3:30 pm.

GRAMMY AWARD WINNING LOS ANGELES GUITAR QUARTET-in a benefit concert for the Harper Community Music Program's underprivileged children's guitar program. BE THERE!!
