Howdy folks...just a heads up about a couple of upcoming shows in downtown Durham's St. Philip's Episcopal Church, benefiting Urban Ministries of Durham (UMD).

First, Friday, April 27...Nashville's Kate Campbell celebrates spring and her new release, 1000 Pound Machine, as she returns to Strings Attached Productions for her fourth show benefiting UMD! Tix/info

Please help spread the word and try to make these shows! Thanks for your support!

And, Friday, May 11...Come out to hear LA's Garrison Starr. Her new disc, Amateur, comes out May 1 and features a range of folks, such as Glen Phillips, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Natalia Zukerman, Adrianne and lots more.  Tix/info.

Chapel Hill band Mandolin Orange is going to be in Raleigh 4/21/12 at a street festival to benefit 4-H. Sponsors include BBQ joints and several local craft breweries, so I expect good things. Mandolin Orange appears the following weekend in "Little Washington". You know what I'm talkin' about.

If you're fairly local to Durham, please try to make this wonderful show benefiting the work of Urban Ministries of Durham. We'll have fresh brews from Triangle Brewing, wine, sodas, snacks...childcare...and great music from Ana Egge!

Admirer Lucinda Williams calls Ana "the folk Nina Simone" and Steve Earle, who produced Ana's latest release Bad Blood, says, "Ana Egge's songs are low and lonesome, big square-state noir ballads which she plays on a guitar she built with her own two hands and sings like she's telling us her deepest, darkest secrets."

"Ana has the rare gift of being so eloquent and simple that she takes your breath away. I just love her." — Shawn Colvin

"Ana has one of the prettiest voices I've ever heard and her songs are beautiful and refreshingly original." — Ron Sexsmith

"...the performance showed just how far Egge has come from the seemingly innocent folk ingenue of 12 years ago to a world class risk taker whose sounds rival Ron Sexsmith or Beth Orton." — Jim Caliguiri, Austin Chronicle

If the link doesn't get stripped out, here's a video of her song "Hole in Your Halo": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUR4wXGjY3M

Parish Hall, St. Philip's Episcopal Church
Durham, NC

Strings Attached Productions invites you to join acclaimed Americana singer/songwriter Ana Egge in performance Friday, January 27, at 7 PM. This unforgettable evening of melodic and moving songs will draw from Ana's latest Steve Earle-produced release Bad Blood, as well as her deep well of work. All Strings Attached profits benefit Urban Ministries of Durham (www.umdurham.org).
