No Depression at SXSW
The official No Depression SXSW showcase will take place Friday, Mar. 19, at the Continental Club, beginning at 8 p.m. (full schedule/lineup below). However, we'll be hosting a meet-up for the ND community at Botticelli's at 6:30 p.m. that same night, to prefunc before our showcase. (The first five people in the door at the meetup get a free ND t-shirt!!) Join us for both!

The New Music Tip Sheet compiles this list of Free parties each year. It's quite comprehensive. Many of these are open and don't need a badge or RSVP to attend.

Besides the official event what other shows do you folks recommend? The only day that my schedule is set is Wednesday.
I am starting the evening at Prague with Nat Jenkins, Wayne Kramer ( of the MC5) and Beans on Toasts. I am then moving on to Opal Divine's to see the Coal Porters featuring Sid Griffin ( Long Ryders ), Sgt. Dunbar. My Wednesdy concludes with Carrie Rodriguez at the Ghost Room or Howie Gelb.
Anyone else have suggestions? I would love to hear about other people's plans.
