Hi Scott ~ Thanks for posting....it's good to see some traffic here.  Right now is the big Woody Fest going on in Okemah....wish I was down there.  It's right cold here in Seattle at the moment !

Steven ~ Good that you are keepin' the faith in Connecticut :-)  I'll check out Pulpit Supply.....love the band name !

Hello Dan ~ Did you ever think of the fellow's name who ended up on Hee-Haw ?

Hey, I'm an Arkansawyer, transplanted to Oklahoma now for over 30 years.  Oklahoma has an embarrassment of musical talent.  I'm a singer/songwriter, my youngest son, Dylan Aycock is a drummer and composer of "experimental jazz/folk/fusion."  My oldest son, Jesse Aycock is singer/songwriter and "kick ass" lap steel player.  I also co-host and produce a radio program on KWGS called Folk Salad- Certified Organic Music.

Howdy Okies,

I just joined.  Born in Enid, my grandparents farmed in Meno, and I have fond memories of Marshall growing up.   I've been playing our version of alt.country with my buddies Pulpit Supply for 20 years and we just released our first album of original material.  Free streaming of our stuff is at www.pulpitsupply.info.  Tell us what you think when you get the chance. Back in 1967 I wasw working on a pulling unit out of Seminole. One day this fellow showed up to fill in on our crew, He worked with us for several days then was gone. He talked about working in Nashville and writing songs but this was before Dylan had embraced Earl Scruggs so I had no idea who he was. My dad said his clan was from the Little area (a small community North of Seminole). The next time I saw the cat he was coming up from the cornfield on Hee-Haw for a salute to Little. For the life of me I can't remember his name. This guy would be a precursor to the Red Dirt Movement. Would anyone remember his name?
