Comment by CowboySlim on January 2, 2013 at 1:35pm Here's a song you might like...it is not about God. It is about the ever deeper encroachment on our privacy and freedom by the intrusive arm of "our own" government. In 1995, my cell phone company recalled my cell phone, even though it was still quite functional, and replaced it with one that has a GPS chip in it. Supposedly for my own protection, but definitely without my consent...well, I guess I did consent, but the choices were exchange or no telephone at all...and now, they can find me, track me, everywhere I go. You think I'm paranoid? Hah! They've shown it on the television, tracking criminals and kidnap victims via the GPS chips in their cell phones. They can track you. And those cameras in our phones? They can activate them to see what you're doing, who's with you, where you are. Big Brother missed 1984, but not by much. BTW, taking the battery out of your cell phone will not disable the GPS...they even anticipated that. So, they can follow you, and the number you have? They were told they couldn't use our Social Security Numbers...the solution? Every cell phone has a distinct number, a distinct chip, (the chips are registered to the cell phone, you cannot use them interchangeably), and we PROUDLY tell folks our number. Vigilance is beyond our capability now...we ARE our own worst enemies. Oh, you say, "I don't have a cell phone, because I can't afford one." Have you noticed the television ads? The postal ads? The ubiquitous cell phone is a necessity, so they are GIVING them away, with 250 free minutes monthly. I have seen them giving the phones away. So everyone has a chip. If they want you, they know where you are, and how to contact you. After pondering all this, I wrote this song. Please don't discount me or the seriousness of this post.

He's Watching You
He's watching you,
Watching you,
Watching everything you do,
If you go fast
Or you go slow,
He sees you everywhere you go,
He's watching you.
He used to be your rich uncle,
But over time things have changed.
Now he's like your big brother,
How did it get so strange?
He's watching you,
Watching you,
Watching everything you do,
If you go fast
Or you go slow,
He sees you everywhere you go,
He's watching you.
If you talk on your phone,
Be careful of what you say.
There ain't no defense in court,
A tape recording's gonna play.
He's watching you,
Watching you,
Watching everything you do,
If you go fast
Or you go slow,
He sees you everywhere you go,
He's watching you.
Be careful on the World Wide Web,
He sees everything you do.
Dontcha download that picture,
Your brother's gonna come and get you.
He's watching you,
Watching you,
Watching everything you do,
If you go left
Or you go right,
He sees you every day and night,
He's watching you.
Now he's got a GPS
Embedded on a silicon chip
Be careful of what you do,
He knows it the minute you slip.
He's watching you,
Watching you,
Watching everything you do,
If you go fast
Or you go slow,
He sees you everywhere you go,
He's watching you.
He's watching you.
He's watching you!
Comment by Bernella Levin on December 28, 2012 at 9:29am Being a radical musician/activist and living in Tennessee is a challenge. All three branches of the state government are now controlled by the GOP for the first time since Reconstruction. Our state legislature was voted the #1 worst in the nation by Mother Jones. They spend their time passing guns in bars and anti-gay legislation and provide a lot of material for Jon Stewart. We are taking our activism back to the neighborhood and our music out to the people. 39% of Tennesseans voted for Obama (not that we don't have some gripes with him...) so we can't paint the whole state as red. History is on our side so we keep on keepin' on.
