Broadcasting on the LoudCity radio network, Americana Nirvana Internet Radio plays a delicious, hand-picked mix of alternative country, classic rock, folk, blues, and r&b. You'll hear the latest releases from contemporary roots music artists, as well as some well-worn recordings that have stood the test of time. If it's got heart, soul, and a little twang, you'll hear it on Americana Nirvana!

Hi; I've recently started broadcasting on Sunday Evenings 11-1am UK time via a community station in Newcastle called which is currently internet based.

I also upload the programme to

on a 'listen again' basis.

If anyone knows the Jumping Hot Club in Newcastle you will know that we/they promote an eclectic mix of music from pure folk, through Country, Hill-billy, Alt-Country, Soul, Reggae, Blues and a lot of leftfield stuff. Basically Roots Music in every shape and format - the radio show mirrors that and will host interviews and sessions while also promoting regional acts.

The theme tune to the show could easily be 'Rex Bob Lowenstein' by Mark Gerrnino...hunt it down to see what I mean.

   Phew - it's fun too!

Give us a try and vote for the Twitter Track of the week while you are there.

The Medicine Show podcast is now 2 hours, I'm doing an extra hour, imaginatively called "The Extra Hour" so I have more room for everyone's music and to plug your gigs, so let me know, if your touring.

Americana Nirvana Internet Radio Station Update:

Just added to the playlist: 3 tracks from Sturgill Simpson's new release, "High Top Mountain".

Anyone who likes Merle Haggard or Waylon Jennings will probably dig this. Mr. Simpson's got a genuine, classic-country sound. The lyrics were what really drew my attention though. They're honest, heartfelt, and sometimes...really funny!

The standout track is "You Can Have The Crown", which concerns the hardship of being an independent, struggling artist. It contains one of the best refrains I've heard in a while.

Check out the video of him and his band performing at The Sun King Brewery.

I've also added songs by NRBQ, Patsy Cline, Richard and Linda Thompson, Danny Barnes, Funkadelic, Wanda Jackson, Chuck Prophet and more. Thanks for listening guys and gals!
