ORLANDO AMERICANA - My mission.

I started this group to network with any and all folks who have an interest in promoting Americana music. You don't necessarily have to be living in the Orlando, FL area as I'm sure there are many of you who have many interesting things to say.

Despite it's fame Orlando remains a cultural wasteland. Why is that and what can be done about that? There is much talent around. What can be done to more effectively promote that talent? With the major attractions like Disney, Universal, and Sea World drawing millions of visitors to the area every year, how can we exploit that? What do we have to do to make our music and musicians an attraction as well?

Let me know what you think!
Peace.

Howdy friends and neighbors;

I hope you're all well and keeping busy this summer. I've been posting songs here and there on various web sites, just seeing what kind of reaction or comments they may get. If you're curious.... http://www.reverbnation.com/artist/control_room/782412#!/andyburr has a few of my songs performed by my cajun/zydeco band The Porchdogs;

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=1194013 has a couple songs I wrote for my recently re-established ska/new wave band Shades of Gray; my other group, the duo Mountain Brew, has yet to record any original tunes. For more info on any of the 3 bands... http://www.MountainBrew.net

Thanks for reading -- best wishes to you!

Well, all indications are that The Cameo is not interested in continuing the "Americana Night". I just couldn't get enough people to show up, I guess. But I thank all who participated & all who DID show up.
On a broader note: It's been a tough couple of years for me here in Orlando. I suppose it's been foolish trying to make a living making music here - but I never had much sense, at least that's what I've been told. Of course, it's been hard for a lot of folks, not just me, and there are easier roads.
But, in the event that I lose internet, etc. (I'm waaay behind with bills), I just want to thank everyone who's participated in this group while I have the chance. Good luck & thanks again.
Peace,
Bob "Stormcrow" Sanders

Hey, ya'll! I'm gonna be back at REILLY'S LANTERN PUB tomorrow night (Sunday June 27, 10:00 PM) with my good friend JIMMY LOVELL. The really cool thing is we'll be joined for a bit by San Antonio native PATRICK HOOD on bass. Patrick is a talented, seasoned pro.
Reilly's is located at: 5681 Vineland Rd., Orlando, FL 32819.
Whoo Hoo!

Well, I never let such things bother me when there's music worth playing or listening to. Plus, if I could predict the precise moment when people would be receptive together with the perfect notes & the perfect words, I could buy Bermuda!
Besides - a beauty sleep is foolish for me. I'm ugly all the time!
But, thanks for the thoughts on the subject. I hope all is well & you're keepin' busy! I do hope we can get to share a stage sometime soon!
Peace,
Bob
