Cash Bash Shout Outs

Double A Daddies would like to thank The Sugar Creek Boys, Small Town Heroes, snorb!, Pearls Mahone & The One-Eyed Jacks (Chicago) and Buzz Deluxe (Toronto) for making Cooter's Cash Bash, our annual Johnny Cash tribute show, a rousing success; we don't feel so bad now 'bout missing Bloodshot's party. Here's a taste for those that missed it:

New American Farmers make their live debut at your house (or office) on your computer. If you were a Mars Arizona fan, you know that MA did their last show in October of 2010. Now, with a name change and the brand new "Rotation: Part1" EP that was just released, they are ready to bring it to your house. Come and see how long their beards are now.

Thanks! I'll try Audacity. I tried a test putting a mix back into Garageband but it didn't seem to make it louder.

@Pete: The function you're looking for is a digital gain change, usually referred to as "normalization". Most audio editors, even free ones like Audacity, can do this. It's not the same as compression/limiting, cuz it doesn't clip/distort your audio, just raises/lowers the level. HTH

I'm new to the group. There are songs on my page that I'd love for folks to listen to. My question, I guess, refers to mastering even though I'm using Garageband. My tracks always seem to end up with different output levels. Is there a mac utility or app that will allow me to even out the volumes of tracks? I realize you can't boost up something very quiet and expect it to sound good. The tracks I'm wondering about are some of the first ones. The other tracks were done at Signature Sounds Studio and they are great.

Bass traps=sound absorbers, usually a wooden frame filled with insulation covered in muslin or canvas and mounted at strategic positions on studio walls.

thanks for the kind words mojobone. Think I might have to put Townes on that mountain also-being on the blue side of life. Would love to do some Honky-Tonker's. Not familiar w/bass traps?
