Where are they now?"

Nice to see the mention of fine Houston artists, old and new. Back in the 80's, I was on a first name basis with Lyle Lovett, through our mutual friend, Bruce W., in Austin. Never had a long talk with him, however, just a few hellos between sets,…Continue

Houston Everywhere 3 Replies

I have just joined this group at Chris's invitation. Fact is, I haven't live in Houston for years. I did visit over the holidays, and  I even located the newer  Hobbit Restaurant (formerly the Hobbit Hole).  Sorry, off topic.  I'll need to catch…Continue

Is this the group for displaced Cajuns? I've telling a lost New Yorker to start serving some boiled crabs with that music, and get those Chinese girls slow dancing! Some people just have rocks in their head.

Know anyone like that?!

Come out Today to help us raise some money for a family in need. The Front Porch Society will be playing from 1-4pm.  Kids are welcome, there will be a slide and 2 Moon Walks, Brisket Plates for $10, Whole Briskets for $40...See you there!

From the organizers: We are holding an event for Tony Rimpley. He is an Autistic 16 year old enthusiastic young man with many physical handicaps. Tony was born with many mental and physical handicaps, such as grandmaul seizures, one leg shorter than the other, his left side very week and not to develop with the rest of his body. Tony will never be able to live on his own and on Sunday October 30, 2011 he lost his grandmother that has raised him since birth. Since her passing Tony has been accepted into a loving home with his uncle Mike Rimpley, wife Sharonda and their 3 children. Not that they will ever turn Tony away but they need to expand their home to allow Tony as comfortable of a life as he can have for the years to come. All funds raised at this event will go to the home expansions and handicap facilities needed for his care.
There will be a live auction, a silent auction, bake sale, BBQ sale, small carnival play areas for children to play in. We are working on getting live entertainment for this event so it is still pending.
If there is anything you would like to donate to the auction or money you would like to donate direct please feel free to contact us below. Also, we are looking for people to help finish putting this together and make it one of the best.
