but the News Features edition will be along when it gets here. Meanwhile, don't miss any EVENTS! (We'll even UPDATE 'em again for ya, soon!) Beyond that? It's all just toooooo crazy, after the power outages and damage control from the wind storms.

We DO have a special Holiday piece for you, right here...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Happy Tune-Filled Chrismakwanzika! Since the ancient Mayan Calendar extends only until December 20 of 2012, and according to some interpretations, that means the world is scheduled to end on December 21st next year, this might be the final year for us to celebrate with Holly and Ivy (aren't we lucky, having BOTH those girls here for the holidays! Ahh, yes...)
    Oh, and the traditional holiday word, “NOEL”-? Well, that one is an ancient word that means “New light,” referring to the lengthening days after the Winter Solstice. It was drafted by Christians to represent the birth of Jesus, as in the carol, “The First Noel.” Things can indeed have origins different than their meanings today.
    So, Happy Chrismakwanzika! Or if you prefer to observe the original thing celebrated on December 25th (before early Roman Christians under Constantine appropriated the date and started claiming it as Yeshua’s – Jesus’ – birthday), Happy Feast of Mithra. Of course, Hanukah has been celebrated for a very long time, though its eight days and nights are almost always concluded before December 25, so you still have time. Main thing is, whatever you choose to celebrate, let us all embrace Peace on Earth, and Good Will Among All People.
Dear Friends of the Burlington Family,
Help us continue to spread the word; we’ll be doing our thing tomorrow night, Saturday June 21st, 8:00pm, at the UnUrban Café in Santa Monica.
Long a favorite haunt of poets and troubadours, the UnUrban Café is an eclectic, fun and funky west side cafe /coffee house that has all you need, strong coffee, well made and tasty food, and of course great music.
