I have thought to myself for a long time that it would impossible for anyone to ever hear Townes music and walk away uneffected by it. It is, as a body of work one of the true gifts left by any songwriter who ever walked the earth. I can not imagine ever playing a set or even 3 songs in a row without one of them being a TVZ number. Thanks for this little site where fans can share their appreciation of this gifted songwriter. You are missed townes but, long from forgotten.

I truly came to know Townes during my divorce, a hard time for me. I played Townes' music every single day for three or four months. That got me through it. I'd never done that before with any artist. Ever since, his music resonates to the core, like just about nothing else.

Wanted to let everyone know about my new site, The Song Survives. I used to run a site called SoundsCountry, but wanted to expand beyond genre limitations to highlight great songs everywhere. Want to contribute a guest post on a great song? Let me know.

Thanks for the reminder.....A very sad & talented man....One of my all time favorite country songs is his cover of "Fraulein", which sounds so exquisitely lonesome and mournful that it always makes me "homesick for that place I've never seen"....Hasta, Townes.
