what an amazing thing to group such talent in one spot and then watch what happens, always a welcome listen

I'm surprised it took this long to get a dedicated page for Cowboy Junkies fans. Been one since "Whites Off Earth Now" first came out , on LP! I'll never forget the look on the young black man's face when I brought that LP to the counter. Tried to explain it was all Blues tunes. I don't think he got it. I believe he mostly agreed with the title.
Was a time I wanted to steal every Michael Timmons lick I could. Still wish I could play like Michael. It's his tone. And Margo's voice, can't tell you how many times I would play something from the catalog just so I could go to sleep listening to that voice. "One Soul Now" , "Live" ( "murder in the trailer park" always thrills me) but "Open" would be the one I'd say I listen to the most. The fuzzed up distorted opening guitar licks, Margo's voice coming in. Great songs, great guitar, the fuzzed up distorted closing licks. It's a completely gorgeous CD from start to finish. That's just my opinion of course. And while I'm here. Not that it was a bad CD , in fact it's quite good, but did Trinity really need to be revisited? It was perfect just the way it was . I don't see an improvement, just a different perspective with some great guest players. It's like remaking a classic movie. 1 of a 1000 remakes are even as good as the original, much less better. Anyone ever see Marlo Thomas in the TV remake of "It's a Wonderful Life"? Very , very sad. The Trinity remake is excellent, but it can't top the original. Anyone else got an opinion?

Took me an age to finally get around to catching the Junkies live (in spite of my having been on to them since The Trinity Sessions ... I still have my original Latent cassette plus Whites Off Earth Now) and in 1993 they were instrumental in helping me get on CBC radio's Morningside to do a one hour special on Gram Parsons ... something I'd been pestering Peter Gzowski (PBUH) about for years. A superb and generous group. Love their version of Dylan's "License to Kill"....
