I've never been on this cruise before, so I'm unfamiliar with the ship. But, I would love to get ND folks together for drinks - preferably during the first day if possible. Who's in? Any ideas about when and where would be best?

A couple things to remember. It is a BIG boat. Last year I was supposed ot meet up with a friend of a friend. We each had pictures of the other, and names. AND I wore a very obvious T-shirt on the day we had planned on "just meeting up". Never saw her the entire cruise.

Not all the bars on the map on the website www.ncl.com/nclweb/fleet/deckplan.html?shipCode=DAWN are open for Cayamo. Some are taken by the event staff for offices, organizing space, and private functions for the entertainers (they have private dining if they want it). So in assigning a meet-up, you best make sure it is in a bar or place that is open to you.

There is a pub type place The Pearly Kings Pub, on Deck 7 on the Port side near the stern, that is open and has the best beer selection on the boat. It is small enough to easily find someone but big enough to hold a group of 10-15 easily in one corner. I'd suggest that for a spot in a bar.

Otherwise you could set a time and meet as far forward as you can go on deck 13. That is outdoors. Nice if sunny.

And it is best for the leader (Kim?) to be very conspicuous. The bartenders wil try, but they may not be as helpful as they would be at home in assisting you.
woot! name a time and we'll be there. can't wait.
I received a message from Becki Carr at Sixthman saying she's going to see about reserving us a place to have our meetup. Yay! I'll let you know what I find out when I find it out.
Okay, just heard from Becki at Sixthman and this is subject to change, but as of now, our meetup is 6 PM Sunday 2/21 in Dazzles lounge. Spread the word!! Bring your people. Looking forward to meet yall.
Do you believe in rock and roll and can music save your very soul? Looking forward to meetingup with you all. We have the early shows, (Lana and I) so 6 would clash with Lyle, will look over all the shows and chat with Lana about the time.
Just like B-shoot so much planning to see who you will see when. At least on the cruise, the preformers are doing more then one show.
Does anyone know if the first two shows are the 'ticketed' ones and the 3d main show is open to all?
all three big shows each night are ticketed. we have tickets to the late show each night.
Thanks, I wondered about that. For all the first time folks, you can try to get into ticketed shows by waiting to see if people don't show, at least that is how they did it on the 1st one. See you all there.
Yes, that is how they did it the second time around too. You show up and wait in a line. After 3 songs they assume someone is not coming for their seat and let it go to people waiting.

There is a break after 3 where the artist chats or instruments are changed etc. so it does not disrupt the show.

Also, later in the show, I got let in to just stand at the top of the stairs. Saw some great moments of collaboration at Brandi show and Hiatt show that did not happen at the one I had seats for.

In short, it never hurts to ask.
Clashes with our only Lyle show. Why do that? Just make it earlier in the day. Doesn't "Becki" know they have a show scheduled then? I am choosing to see Lyle, of course. Would like to meet up but not missing a main stage event.
yeah, i just traded into that lyle show. (clearing the way for the late night buddy miller and friends show on thursday)

i still hope to meet you guys. but if you need me at six on sunday, i'll be up on my pony on my boat...
Just make it 4 pm
Jeffrey - I believe the safety drill is at 4 or 4:30 - don't wanna have to cut things short to run off and pretend like we're all about to drown! We can always plan a second gathering (maybe at one of the non-ticketed shows?) for those who don't make it to this meetup at the bar.

By the way, I'll have ND t-shirts and other wonderful things to give out to folks who show up for the bar meetup. So you'll want to show up early to get some free ND swag if you're into that sort of thing. Looking forward to it!
