Looking for some good Americana roots music? You just might find it in my new CD "One Time."
Lorne Entress (Lori McKenna's Bittertown) did an amazing job as producer. He pulled in local players including Mark Erelli, Tim Gearan, Roger Williams and others, plus he and I took a trip down to Nashville to record Stuart Duncan on fiddle (he was off to play with YoYo Ma the next day). That was amazing.

Here's what a few of the critics have to say...
Singer/ songwriter Amy Black seamlessly blends country, folk, rock and soul on her intoxicatingly enjoyable new album "One Time." The artist enlisted a host of talented backing musicians for this 12-track collection of songs that showcase both her voice and lyrical ability. Black penned nine of the tunes here, and "Run Johnny," personal favorite "Whiskey and Wine," "All My Love" and "Meet Me on the Dance Floor" are flat-out fantastic. Well-chosen covers augment "One Time," most notably Black's stellar readings of Loretta Lynn's twangy gem "You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man)" and Kris Delmhorst's "Words Fail You." ~ Jeffrey Sisk, The Daily News
Good country rock found! Me thinks of Patty Griffin and other queens of the rodeo past and present. 'Whiskey and Wine' is my favorite of the lot as it speaks volumes from the heart and I love the pedal steel. ~Heroes of Indie
It takes guts, especially as a female artist, to release an album that opens with a murder ballad and closes with the title track from JohnnyCash's last album. Amy Black's One Time
is an album full of such gutsy decisions. ~Stormy Lewis, RoughStock
