@ Jack Williams  .. yea she had real solid musicians play on that song..

@Angel R  I've had two friend tell that place is great (The Hamilton) The GA seated is for dinner eaters I assume

@Kenny - Well, I must have mistaken it for something on Voyageur.   It's the last song on Asking for Flowers, so maybe I haven't listened to it enough.    Read an interview recently where she said she recorded the songs for AFF pretty quickly except for that song, which was her "special project."

Has anyone been to a show at The Hamilton in DC?  New venue owned by Clyde's group - I think it opened last fall.

For most shows they have two tickets - GA seated and GA standing.  I'm wondering where these will be in relation to each other.  The website doesn't have any good photos of stage area.

@ Jack Williams  .. Katheen did look exahusted after her set :)  Another song she did include fom Asking for Flowers was "Goodnight, California" (by far my favorite song of hers).   I asked her on Facebook to "please" include that song in the 9:30 set (I am not taking credit!! ).  Gordon Tough's guitar work certainly made up for the harmonica/synthesizer pieces in the studio version of that song.. You should have seen the smile on face when she played that..

JTE also playing at Ramshead On Stage but all of the goods tickets are sold.  Can't bring myself to see and hear a concert when I must sit perpendicular to the stage.

Two May 2012 shows at the Birchmere that I have my eye on:

5/10 Carolina Chocolate Drops (bandstand)

5/18 Justin Townes Earle

I concur with Kenny on the Kathleen Edwards show.  My first time seeing her.   I think she did every song but one (For The Record) from Voyageur.  Then, I counted two from Failer (six O'clock News and Hockey Skates), two from Back to Me (title track and In State), one from Asking for Flowers (title track), and an encore I didn't recognize (cover?).   Would have liked another song or two from Asking for Flowers, but that's a negligible complaint.   I think the set was only 90 minutes long, but she and the band performed at such an intense level.   I feel like she put her all into those 90 minutes.  Thought she might break down and cry on the more heartbreaking songs from Voyageur or jump off the stage on the rockers like Back to Me.  Great band, too. And that Gordon Tough is some kind of guitar player.

Kathleen Edward's show at the 9:30 club last night was great .. Really enjoyed the concert.  She filled the place with enthusiastic fans.  Great set list of old/new songs..
