G'day, y'all. Just dropped in to check out the Down Under clique. This here's my kelpie Katy. There's another one, kelpie Deck (as in Declan), but you can't see his photo, because Katy's there. Cool site. Anyone get to the Lomond? Great pub. Shame I can't drink any more. But the bands are usually good. The bad ones are usually fun. Y'all come down now.

Hi Dude,
Making Gravy's my birthday present but that isn't until Halloween so will reply again once I'm reading it. Have been a fan since '79/80 esp "Post/"Gossip"/Messengers era (some of my favourite songs/gigs) so am keen to read Paul Kelly's story in his own words. Cheers, Gary

Hi Guys
I have been an avid reader of ND for the last year or so and think its the best music site around. Curiously I never bothered until now to check out whether ther were fellow Aussies of a similar mind.
Am currently a third of the way through Paul Kelly's opus Making Gravy and am blown away b y the fact that he is as good a writer as he is musician/songwriter.Is anyone else out there reading it? If so I would love your feedback.

I went to the Spiegel tent to see The Gin Club last week...got to be the best show I've seen for a long time. Their songs, arrangements, vocal harmonies are raw and real.

I have piles of No Depression magazines stored away in Tennessee. It's always been my favourite music magazine. Having lived in Tasmania since 2005, I have just been pleasantly surprised to discover this Australian ND Chapter. I've been chomping on the bit to discover what I will oddly refer to as Americana music being made here in Aussie. I'll look forward to any replies.

Howdy all - just stumbled across this site. Always trying to find ways to connect with other roots lovin' crew.

Currently in Darwin @ the Darwin Fringe Festival. It's bloody hot up here! Darwin ABC radio plays some excellent music tho!! Better than anything in Sydney!!

Latest fave Aussie find is Kara Grainger "Grand & Green River".

Also really love salty's podcast -- in case any of you haven't come across it you can find it here http://www.salty.com.au/

PS quick plug: Anyone keen for some Ryan Adams/Harry Manx/Paul Kelly kinda sounding music - my partner Kieran Glasgow is heading down the west coast through Sept / Oct. Gigs on website www.kieranglasgow.com

Hey guys, has anyone heard the new Son Volt album? From what I've heard so far it's sounds amazing! Jay Farrar is just such a gifted songwriter. In fact, I'm more buzzed about this ablum than the new Wilco record. Wilco are great but I find American Central Dust far more affecting. Here's hoping for a Son Volt tour out here. Feel free to comment.

Not Australian but a frequent visitor. I've a trip to Melbourne end Jul/start Aug. Have two gigs locked in - Flaming Lips in West Melbourne 29/7 and Downhills Home at Yah Yahs 31/7. Any recommendations for other shows in Melbourne that week and start of week after?
