The Other Side of Nashville by Keith Gordon is an incomplete history and discography of the Nashville underground rock scene circa 1976-2006. It's a worthy project that can use some help.

From the Kickstarter page:

Nashville has forever been known as the home of country music...but there's another side to the Music City that is often overlooked...a non-country, rock 'n' roll scene that has thrived in Nashville since the early 1980s.

The Other Side of Nashville is a book documenting the "non-country" side of the Music City. Featuring several hundred artists and a discography of literally hundreds of albums, tapes, and CDs, The Other Side of Nashville provides an incomplete history of an ongoing and vital Nashville rock scene that has produced talents like Jason & the Scorchers, the Kings of Leon, the Features, Lambchop, and many other Nashville musicians that are loved and respected worldwide.

I've been working on this project for over four years now, doing artist interviews, compiling the book's lengthy discography, writing band histories, scanning hundreds of photos, and much more. The actual writing of the book is around 90% completed, and to date I've laid out over 400 pages. However, in order to finish The Other Side of Nashville, I'm going to need some financial help to complete the tasks that I just can't get done.

Your Kickstarter donation will pay for a professional cover design (something that I suck at doing), transcription of over two-dozen new and exclusive interviews with some of Nashville's most talented artists, scanning of album artwork and other graphics that I lack the facilities to perform, and for the first printing of the book. The Other Side of Nashville is going to be a real monster, estimated at 600+ pages, so it's going to take some cheddar to print a few hundred or more of these suckers.

Great project! Unfortunately, I'm unable to give any money at this time. A car wreck will do that to you. But please get me in touch with the author if you can and I can probably get two or three more interviews for him with guys who grew up in Nashville around that time and played in rock bands and, of course, I would be glad to help him get exposure for his book via No Depression any way that I can.
Sorry to hear about the car... Keith A. Gordon, Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=777274191, from right near me (I should probably post this on Buffalo Heard also). From my conversation with him, "I lived in Nashville over 30 years. I've been working on this book project since I came to WNY, and it includes a lot of artists that would be of interest to No Depression fans (including Jason & the Scorchers, Dan Baird, Webb Wilder, and many more!)."  Thanks for whatever you can do Adam (and good luck with the car).
