checking in here myself after a long absence, but yeah, what Phil said. May start using my blog here some more, the site is under new ownership and some interesting changes coming down the pike, it seems...

Garry, many of the people from the old AOL group are on the Facebook page Son of No Depression. That's the closest thing to the old group these days.

It's been a good while since I checked in here.  Can this really be the first post of 2014???  Anyone from the old AOL No Dep/Alt-Country music board still here?  Just for the old-time helluvit, what are folks here enjoying from the new 2014 releases?  We're over three months into the year now, so here are a dozen of my first quarter faves of 2014.   Anyone else wanna play?

Johnny Cash: Out Among the Stars
Lydia Loveless: Somewhere Else
Drive-By Truckers: English Oceans
The Hold Steady: Teeth Dreams
V/A: Bob Dylan in the 80's - Vol. One
Lake Street Dive: Bad Self Portrait
Black 47: Last Call
Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings: Give The People What They Want
Hurray For The Riff Raff: Small Town Heroes
Hard Working Americans: Hard Working Americans
Fred Eaglesmith: Tambourine
Grant Peeples and the Peeples Republick: Punishing the Myth

I'm happy to be a part of this group. There are a lot of fine musicians, singers, and songwriters here and I am looking forward to make whatever I can add to be worthy.      Glenn

Hey there,

Not sure how I missed this group before... but good to know you're here!

Just getting started here but this group appealed to me right away...I went to college with Jason at SIU. He got kicked out of a friends bluegrass band, heartbroken, formed another band, then split to Nashville and the rest is history!

Man, thanks Tim!  Yeah, they are really great genuine good guys - Entirely unpretentious.  Starting to make some waves here.  Their first big headlining show in the big city (SF) is Fr. 8/24  ... Thank you for taking the time to listen!

Wow! The Easy Leaves really nailed it...bravo. The steel guitar was perfecto. The video and the adio mix was unusually great. Keep it up you guys...very unpretentious too. Thanks. (Gettin' down on the farm)!
