Doesn't have to be a great revelation. Doesn't have to change the year in music. Could be old. Could be new. Just has to do it for this week. So what is doing it for you this week?

Can't wait. All preordered and ready to go. Wondering... What tempo is the majority of the album? Say on a scale of "Dress Blues" / "Cigarettes and Wine" to "Alabama Pines" and beyond.

I See Hawks In LA - "New Kind of Lonely"

This is a really fine acoustic record, nicely paced and full of twists and turns lyrically.

So unbelievably excited about the upcoming Jason Isbell album. What I've heard so far has been very good but absolutely adore today's release of "Cover Me Up". Very much belted out - a live concert feel. Gotta say that this one looks like it's going to get my album of the year vote and I haven't even heard 85% of it so far.

I assure you, you will not be disappointed in the least!

It is certainly bound to be in the top 3 for me of 2013,  the more I listen, the more I like and the more subtleties I pick up on in the production..... it truly is a gem of a recording!

I have never seen him perform live but he will be in my area (and in my favourite venue) in late June and I am doing what I can to work that show into my schedule.
