Doesn't have to be a great revelation. Doesn't have to change the year in music. Could be old. Could be new. Just has to do it for this week. So what is doing it for you this week?

Patty Loveless ... Mountain Soul II

Got me hunting for other versions of "Fools Thin Air"
by Rodney Crowell and Susanna Clark ... came up
with a single that Emmylou did that's on her Anthology
release (which I now have on order ... must've thought
I already had everything on it).
The last few days I've been rocking out to Los Lobos "Good Morning Aztlán". Love them crunchy guitars.
A.A. Bondy's American Hearts.
A Harlem Parlour Christmas by Harlem Parlour Music Club
Hugely predictable one from me! Bought it three days ago and, literally nothing else has been on the deck since!

Laaaaadiiiieeeeesssss & Gennelmun , I give you the fabulous DDDDDDDAve Rawlings MACHINE!!!!
Great choice! I just sent my reply and then saw yours. I especially like "I Here Them All".
Merle Haggard. Hag/Someday We'll Look Back. NZ$12 (US$8.70) on iTunes. What a bargain for 2 original albums. No it's not perfect, but it's not bad.
Dave Rawlings - Machine
Chad Elliott's "Redemption Man"
Diana Jones 'Better Times Will Come'....... must rate as one of the best albums of the year!
'Abbatoir Blues'-Nick Cave, what kind of fool am I to have missed this when it was released?
Speaking of Los Lobos, I have been digging their new albumLL Does Disney--some of it is a little out there, but in a good way-a couple of songs have been released previously on Disney compilation albums-be sure to check out Heigh Ho and When You Wish Upon A Star/It's A Small World, recommended to all Los Lobos fanatics and anyone else who is curios.
